Who should attend?
Anyone who has completed the NHSS 12ab Operative training course and is looking to obtain full operative status (assessments must be completed within a two-year period starting from the date of the first assessment)
You must select a course date first!
Minimum of 3 x successful assessments required as a minimum covering all the performance criteria as detailed in the Lantra Awards logbook.
All assessments MUST be completed in a ‘live’ site environment in accordance with the requirements of the relevant sector scheme document.
NOTE:
The average number of assessments required to complete your 12AB assessment process varies from candidate to candidate.
On average, non drivers that know what they are doing and perform the works correctly on every assessment take approximately 3 or 4 assessments to complete.
For drivers that know what they are doing and perform the works correctly on every assessment, it will take around 5 or 6 assessment to complete.
If you do not achieve the required standard during any assessment it will of course take you longer to complete the process.
These are estimated averages taken from many years experience assessing 12AB qualifications.
Pre-requisites: Holds a valid NHSS 12ab Operative training certificate, and has gained some practical experience of installing, maintaining and removing static traffic control methods in a 'live' environment.
Course aims: Demonstrate an understanding of the processes and procedures required to safely install, maintain and remove traffic management schemes on motorways and high speed dual carriageway roads, concluding in attaining full TMO status.
On completion, all learners will be issued with a skills registration card by Lantra Awards which will be valid for 5 years.
NB: Refresher training is required within 6 months of the expiry date to ensure the qualification remains valid.
